This week marks National Road Safety week and we’re urging everyone to sign the Brake Pledge, committing to make our roads a safer place. Road crashes are the biggest non-medical cause of death among children and the biggest killer overall among young people. Every day 5 people die on UK roads. Statistics like this remind us how unsafe our roads can be but if we all drive and behave responsibly then these numbers will dramatically reduce.
Hey folks, It was an absolute pleasure to be asked to write for RADAR NI. The work that they do is nothing short of incredible. My name is Anita Dennison and I am a 20 year old Queen’s University student. I have an award winning campaign that helps and advises young people and their parents 24/7 on all things bullying and mental health related, but sadly things haven’t always been this positive for me.
In case you hadn’t noticed, from the fact that every shop is now stocking pumpkin EVERYTHING, Halloween is coming. We’re big into Halloween. It’s a good excuse to watch a scary film or two, eat copious amounts of sweet things and dress up like the living-dead and other pleasant characters doused in the appropriate amount of blood and gore. We’re thinking Eleven from Stranger Things could be on the cards for most overdone costume this year, that and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad; mark our words! Whatever your age, plans or alter-ego of choice we urge you to take care of yourself this season.
