This week in RADAR our focus has turned to fire safety. According to the UK Fire Service Resource, “every year the UK Fire Rescue Service is called to over 600,000 fires which result in over 800 deaths and over 17,000 injuries. About 50,000 of these are in the home. They kill nearly 500 and injure over 11,000.” The Statistics are overwhelming! As the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are marking 3-10th October as Fire Safety Week, we will be posting our own tips on Fire Safety to raise awareness on how to make your home safer and fire free.
RADAR are delighted to be hosting our first ever Teacher Taster session on Saturday September 10th. Over 7,000 KS2 and KS4 pupils have experienced Northern Ireland’s first and only interactive safety and life skills centre so far this year. If you are a Key Stage 2 (KS2) or Key Stage 4 (KS4) teacher, we’d love to show you what RADAR is all about. On Saturday 10th September at 10.00am you will have the opportunity to visit the Centre and sample some of our amazing interactive learning zones.
Results day is always stressful. Freaking out is normal. With over 600,000 teens applying for university last year it’s safe to say you’re definitely not alone in this process. Whether you got exactly what you wanted from your results or not we’re here to support you.
